Airdri’s new energy efficient high speed dryer qualifies for Enhanced Capital Allowance.
Airdri, the responsible provider of sustainable hand drying systems can help businesses to reduce their impact on the environment, whilst benefiting from significant financial savings as its new high speed hand dryer, The Classic+ MkII qualifies for the Government’s Enhanced Capital Allowance (ECA) scheme, managed by the Carbon Trust.
The ECA scheme encourages businesses to invest in energy saving technologies by rewarding them with an accelerated tax break against the purchase of verified products listed on its Energy Technology Product List.
Capital allowances enable businesses to write off the capital cost of purchasing listed energy saving equipment, against the taxable profits of the period of investment. Businesses can claim a 100% first year capital allowance which enables them to write off the capital cost of purchasing machinery, such as hand dryers, against their taxable profits. The general rate of capital allowances from April 2012 is 18% a year, on a reducing balance basis. This can bring significant financial savings and reduce your business’ impact on the environment.
The benefits for businesses are that they are able to invest in energy efficient equipment with less upfront cost. Additional benefits of purchasing ECA qualifying technologies include improved cash flow, lower energy bills, and reduction in Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC) payments. The ECA technology product list is often used as one of the procurement criteria which products have to meet in order to demonstrate they are energy efficient.
Trudi Osborne, Marketing Communications Manager of Airdri Ltd, said: “Airdri is delighted that our new high speed hand dryer has been verified as energy efficient, and qualifies for tax relief. This demonstrates our commitment to developing ecologically-sound warm air hand dryers which help to reduce the carbon footprint of all types of organisations across the UK, whilst helping businesses save money.”
The ECA scheme aims to encourage the purchase of high speed hand air dryer products with the highest efficiency. Eligible products must use less than 6.9 kWh of electricity per 1,000 average drying cycles in its normal mode of operation. The product’s average drying time must be performance tested in accordance with the procedures laid down in Sections 5.3 and 6.3 of NSF Protocol P335, “Hygenic Commercial Hand Dryers,” May 2007.
The inclusion of The Classic+ MkII on this government scheme follows swiftly from it becoming the first in the high speed (fast dry) hand dryer category to be awarded the Quiet Mark. This international mark of approval from the UK Noise Abatement Society encourages worldwide companies to include noise reduction when developing the design of machines and appliances used in everyday life.
