London-based cleaning services provider Julius Rutherfoord has been awarded the prestigious CSSA Contract Innovation Award for its Cleaning Management App. The company was also highly commended in the Environmental & Sustainability category, and the Corporate Social Responsibility category at the awards ceremony, which took place on 15 March at Excel London.

Meticulously developed over a year, the Cleaning Management App was launched in early 2016 and rolled out across the company in an ongoing training programme. It provides a single client interface and integrates with Julius Rutherfoord’s back office systems.

The iPad App is a platform for real-time communication, training records and audit reports. Since its introduction, the App has brought many efficiency benefits to the company and its clients, including:

  • A 5% increase in area management client ‘face time’ thanks to reduced administration
  • A 3% year-on-year rise in client satisfaction responses (to 91%)
  • A 4% increase in average client audit scores
  • 10% reduction on head office paper usage
  • A 19% reduction in CO2 emissions per fleet vehicle thanks to innovative contract mapping software

Julius Rutherfoord operations director Chris Parkes said, “We are delighted and honoured to have won the CSSA Contract Innovation Award, which reflects our passion for innovation as London’s leading customer-focussed cleaning company. The App showcases our expert approach to meeting the needs of our discerning clients, increasing confidence in service levels through real-time access to data, transparency, and feedback with management.

“Among the many advantages that Cleaning Management App has brought, the increase in area management client ‘face time’ it has allowed thanks to reduced administration is a fantastic benefit. We provide the services we would expect ourselves, and innovation that allows us to spend more dedicated time listening to our clients is worth celebrating.”

The CSSA also ranked Julius Rutherfoord as highly commended in the Environmental & Sustainability category, and the Corporate Social Responsibility category. Chris added, “These fantastic achievements reflect our core business goals as a green and ethical cleaning company. I would like to thank our dedicated, passionate team for working to drive innovation at Julius Rutherfoord. We will proudly display our new awards at our Battersea home.”

The CSSA Contract Innovation Award and Highly Commended honours add to a growing list of accolades bestowed to Julius Rutherfoord, including the Wandsworth Business Training & Development award, which it won at the end of 2016. Julius Rutherfoord is also a winner of the Kimberly-Clark Professional Golden Service Healthy Workplace Award for its home – The Tramshed in Battersea, London.
