Leading awarding organisation partners with industry experts to provide a hub for information and discussion on skills-related issues

WAMITAB – the leading authority in qualifications for the waste and resource management sectors – is continuing its commitment to improving industry standards by launching the ‘Skills Village’ initiative at RWM 2013.

The WAMITAB Skills Village brings together leading experts in training, consultancy and qualifications to offer guidance on a broad skills-related agenda – tackling subjects such as apprenticeships, funding, online learning, technical competence, and much more. A daily programme of 20 minute briefings will give visitors and exhibitors the chance to access authoritative advice on ensuring that their employees are equipped with the right skills to grow and develop their businesses.

Experts from WAMITAB, SWRAC, SERAC, ENTAC, CMK and Smart Development will be on hand to answer any training or skills-related questions, and will be speaking on the following subjects:

  • Entry into the sector – apprenticeships and flexible qualifications
  • Competent personnel – why and how?
  • Leadership and lean management
  • Getting the most out of funding
  • Winning business and staying safe
  • ADR and bespoke driver CPC solutions

Chris James, CEO of WAMITAB, said: “By developing its circular economy the UK can encourage business and financial growth – but in order to do this we must have the correctly skilled people to drive it forward. WAMITAB is proud to be involved in the very first Skills Village initiative for RWM. It will provide a gateway to training and qualifications-related resources that will inform and advise those looking to develop and motivate their employees in this fast growing industry sector.”

RWM 2013 takes place at the NEC, Birmingham from 10-12 September www.rwmexhibition.co.uk The Skills Village can be found in hall 20 on stands K69-J68/K59-J58.
