Meet the experts at RWM 2017

RWM 2017 is more than just a trade show. Visitors – who can register for free – will be able to access exclusive and unique opportunities to gain insight from international experts on how to grow their business sustainably.

From discussing export opportunities with representatives from the Department for International Trade (DIT); to gaining an understanding of waste processing options with an expert from the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management (CIWM); and debating energy efficiency initiatives with a specialist from the Energy Services & Technology Association (ESTA); the free advice available could be invaluable to any business.

RWM 2017, which takes place from 12-14 September at Birmingham’s NEC in partnership with CIWM, boasts carefully planned networking and 1-2-1 connection programmes designed to motivate and problem solve across the resource and utilities supply chain:

  • RWM Connects – this is a free 1-2-1 networking feature that allows registered visitors and exhibitors to search thousands of contacts and book meetings at the show. Create an online profile based on your business interests, and the system will generate your best matches and filter the database to find the perfect contacts, and send invitations. Meetings can be held on exhibitor stands or in the RWM Connects Lounge in Hall 4.
  • CIWM Resources & Waste Clinic – from advice on the circular economy to procurement or technology and much more, grab 30 minutes with a senior CIWM expert for a 1-2-1 session covering any aspect of resource and waste management at the onsite clinic. Located in Hall 4, the clinic is offered on a drop-in basis to registered visitors and exhibitors.
  • Utilities Clinic – Supported by ESTA and the MEUC, the Utilities Clinic is shaping the agenda for efficiency in the demand-side and supply-side sector, offering insight from experts into best practice and innovation. Members from the Major Energy Users Council (MEUC) and ESTA will also be on hand at the clinic located at the RWM Connects stand. Register to visit the show for details of how to book a meeting.
  • Export Support – On-site advice will be available at the show from the DIT’s expert team of international export experts, who specialise in the energy and waste sectors. DIT will also host international buyers from around the globe looking to invest in UK products, and will be available at RWM for 1-2-1 meetings at the UK Pavilion in Hall 4. In addition to the clinics, visitors and exhibitors can also take contacts for more informal meetings, a drink or a quick lunch at one of the many networking cafes located across the show. There is also the Pitch & Pint crazy golf course in Hall 5, sponsored by Adtrak, for a relaxed and memorable networking opportunity with colleagues and contacts.

Meanwhile, the Ride & Drive Outdoor area demonstration zone is an opportunity for anyone thinking of expanding their fleet to get behind the controls of the latest equipment to find out how they can improve a fleet efficiency and productivity.

Nicola Meadows, RWM event director, Ascential, said, “This year, RWM 2017 presents unique opportunities for visitors and exhibitors to gain insight and advice from leading experts across Energy, Recycling and Water industries on building sustainable businesses.

“Networking and making new contacts are the lifeblood of businesses, and we guarantee that anyone walking in with a query about their business will leave feeling energised and alert to the latest opportunities available. The umbrella concept to RWM 2017 is our One Planet Living mission, and the only way that we are going to truly optimise and sustainably manage the world’s resources is to embrace our increasingly interconnected world.

“RWM 2017 brings together innovators and influencers, public sector bodies, governments and not-for-profit organisations to deliver and debate the future of environmentally-sound business. Anyone interested in shaping the future of resource-efficiency in the UK should join our community and attend the show.”
